How Arik actually works

Four steps, from your coverage to a sourced, actionable answer. Nothing here is guessed — every step is designed so the final price traces back to something real.

01
Tell Arik your coverage
Commercial/employer, Medicare, Medicaid, or uninsured. This isn't a formality — it changes what's legal to show you next. A manufacturer copay card that's perfectly fine for a commercially insured patient is a federal Anti-Kickback Statute violation for a Medicare patient. Arik asks first, before it ever names a program.
02
Ask about a drug
Arik checks every known legal pathway against your specific situation — manufacturer copay cards, independent foundation grants, cash-pay pricing, and government programs where they apply. It doesn't stop at the first match; it checks everything you're eligible for.
03
Get a sourced answer
Every price Arik shows you traces back to a specific, dated source — a manufacturer's own program page, a foundation's fund status, official program terms. If two sources disagree, Arik says so instead of picking one and pretending it's certain. If nothing has been verified recently enough to trust, it tells you that too.
Why this matters
Most tools sound confident about numbers they can't actually back up. Arik is built the opposite way: it would rather say "this is disputed, here's why" than guess.
04
Show it at the counter
If a copay card gets wrongly rejected at the pharmacy, Arik gives you the exact language and billing code to hand the pharmacist on the spot — no login, no navigating, just hand over the phone. This is built to work in the moment it's actually needed, not just as a research tool beforehand.
